History of the ClubDuring 1990 a Jeep Jamboree was held in Dubbo to celebrate Jeeps 50th birthday A few Jeep owners from Victoria met at this event, decided to keep in contact and attend various 4WD club functions where sometimes, as many Jeeps as club members would turn up. In December 1991 a number of Jeep enthusiasts attended a Christmas party with a view to form a local Jeep club. With some advertising and direct invitation for a “run” in February 1992 it was hoped that there would be sufficient interest to form the club. The February run was a success and the Jeep Owners Club, Victoria came into being with an initial six members. As the members were scattered throughout Victoria it was decided that meetings would be held during events/functions to minimise the tyranny of distance. A newsletter was introduced to become the main source of information. The Jeep Owners Club, Victoria was officially formed in February 1992, incorporated in July 1992 and affiliated with the Victorian Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs (now Four Wheel Drive Victoria).
